Pause and Rest

This year has been moving at a warped speed and I know we all feel it. What is it with this acceleration? And with that comes an urgency that makes us feel we need to keep up.

Add to that the awful atrocities happening in wars where humans are attacking and killing other humans, and it can all be so OVERWHELMING. (I join you in praying for the end of the terrorism and fighting that is taking a huge human toll in the Middle East on ALL sides. Peace, peace, peace.)

Maybe that’s why we are becoming more attached to our phones, scrolling stuff on social media, and watching TikTok videos, to avoid facing the often brutal realities of the present moment.

Sadly though, this reactive response to dealing with stress disconnects us from others. And what we need now more than ever now is true connections with other humans!

Our souls are longing for renewal, restoration, and reprieve.

I'm committed to allowing more space to slow my pace to allow more grace (😊) to envelop my life. And I invite you to consider doing the same.

Because I’ve experienced that when we live our lives like we’re running a race, we discover that it’s a race not worth winning.

When I can slow down and listen to what my heart and gut are saying to me, I realize that some of my choices are misaligned with my true desires. Because at those times, I’m operating in reactive mode versus one of intentionality.

My desire is to be in alignment with God’s will and plan for my life. To be walking in my divinely designed destiny. To make an impact in the lives of those I’m meant to serve.

But I can only take stock of this when I allow myself to stop and tune into my heart and spirit.

There is SO much power in the pause. In the sweetness of the savor.

At the beginning of last year, Keshawn Hughes and I did a 4-part LinkedIn Live series, The Savor Series, and it speaks to all of this and more.

Because my spirit had been stirring with these new ideas of how to spend more time being versus doing. Because who we BE is what helps us execute our DO most powerfully and effortlessly.

Our talk on Savoring Work is particularly relevant. Tune in HERE

Today, my affirmation from my She Shines Affirmation card deck says “There is no perfection. No urgency. I can take a breath and know that I am enough right now”.

I invite you to embrace this truth for yourself too. We are human BEings. We are meant to BE. To be present. To be intentional. To give ourselves the space to process and integrate the life lessons that are in front of us every day.

To walk in alignment with our truth and Truth.

To allow ourselves space to rest and be.

Consider:
-Am I paying attention to how I spend my days and energy?
- Where and how do I invest my time?
-Am I making room for God's guidance, or have I assumed I know/decided what he's saying?

This may have started out as a challenging year on many levels, but as we move forward, it’s so important that we honor what we have learned or are learning along the way.

There is ALWAYS something to learn. And as we learn, we can start shedding the behaviors and beliefs that no longer serve us.

Check out my video HERE (it’s just 3 minutes) that gives you clarity on how I can support you on your journey as your coach.

I would appreciate it if you’d share the link with others in your circle who may benefit from my services.

To your continued unveiling !
