Take Time to Unplug from Work This Summer
As high achievers, leaders, entrepreneurs, and purpose-driven women we always have goals to meet, feats to accomplish, and visions to bring to life.
But if we don't take time to press pause and unplug from our doing, we won't have the context or introspection to see what we are getting done.
Getting unplugged for two weeks to visit my family in Trinidad was the reset my mind, body, and spirit needed to come back to my work with gusto and excitement.
Connecting with family and friends with no agenda other than being present to the day in front of me allowed me to tap into my inner reserves, creativity, and brilliance more powerfully when I returned.
It allowed me to do fun things like watching leatherback turtles lay eggs on the beach at night, touring a mountainous village in a jeep with my cousins, and climbing a mountain that taught me new things about the wonder and beauty of God's creations and my own limits.
This summer, I invite you to fully press pause and disconnect from your work for a few days, a week, or more and connect with the enduring things that matter more. Your mind, body, spirit will thank you for it!
