Cultivate Your Leadership Presence
Leadership Presence is a topic I love to talk about as it integrates my expertise as a former image consultant and leadership coach so sweetly.
Like many entrepreneurs, I had a bit of work to do to prepare a webinar on leadership presence for the CMBA that I gave virtually while on vacation.
It was fabulous and the ladies and I had a truly inspired time tackling the limiting beliefs and behaviors that impact their leadership presence.
Leadership Presence is one of those terms you may hear a lot about but not really know what it means or how to cultivate it.
If you fear that you don’t come across as a “leader,” as an executive or entrepreneur, keep reading.
The notion of leadership presence is tied very closely to your own beliefs about yourself, your confidence in your abilities, your "POSTURE" as a leader (a unique acronym I’ve curated around presence), and your visual presentation.
If you feel that you communicate from fear not strength, and just cannot speak or operate in ways that represent your most confident self, let me help you work that out.
A quick tip I can share is to complete my leadership brand assessment quiz and after you get your results, ask yourself what you would like to project differently that you're now not effectively conveying. This observation is key to what you need to strengthen.
Another quick tip is to leverage your voice as part of your presence more frequently.
As leaders, we use our voices everywhere! In the board room, team meetings, networking events, interacting with our clients and customers and on podiums. "Our voice can speak truth to power in one space and offer words of comfort in another."
The power of our voice is undeniable, but let's be honest. How many of us truly speak out and show up the way we're meant to? The way that will allow us to make a greater impact than the one we're making now?
I've worked with seasoned professionals and entrepreneurs who have either lost their voice, became unsure of their voice, are afraid of their voice, or have had their voice silenced.
Without the power and impact of YOUR voice, your presence will be anemic. It's time to reclaim and restore your voice to become the one God designed you with and to impart the wisdom, empowerment, elevation, and innovation that is how YOUR voice can impact those in your sphere.
Your voice is a HUGE aspect of your leadership presence and I want to encourage you to cultivate one that is authentic, effective, and courageous.
